Sacagawea
A herorine of the Lewis & Clark journey.
When she was about 12 years old, Sacagawea was kidnapped by a war party of Hidatsa Indians, the enemiy of her people, the Shoshones. She was taken to be a captive from Three Forks to Five Villages that very far frome her home. So she grow up and was raised by Hindatsa tribe that make she can speak two languages (Hindatsa and Shoshone languages). And was sold by her master for trading to the French Canadian trader name Toussaint Charbonneau.
Shape of America from two great capitans.
In 1800 President Thomas Jefferson ask Meriwether
Lewis & William Clark to explore the western territories between the Mississippi river and the Pacific ocean.
(Lewis record all the exloring on the paper/Clark made the map of all the exploring geography)
Sacagawea be a translator for Lewis & Clark expendition recruited Charbonneau and Sacagawea to accompany them westward, expecting to make use of Sacagawea ability to speak to the Shoshne. The expedition expected that they would need to trade with the Shoshone for horses. Sacagawea cannot speak English but she can translate Hidatsa to Charbonneau who could translate French to Francois Labiche, a member of the expedition who could translate English for Lewis & Clark.
The honoring of Sacagawea with her portrail on the dollar coin follows many other similar honors. Many public schools, especially in the Northwest, are named for Sacagawea, as are mountain peaks, streams, and lakes.

When I watched this movie, I felt like I'm watching real story from a documentary movie. It's easy to watch cause tha film look like documentary more than be the ordinary movie. And all the film don't have any dialogs but use describing instead.
This movie, it 's in the Nation Building period that the united state is going to enlarge the country territory by surveying the new area that most of them have the local people live their before. So in the surveying will find many local people that use different language, culture, custom or living style. To communicate with other local people, the explorer invented sign language (not hear word we just see them). In that time, people use exchanging or barter to trade with each other. And in traveling to anywhere, it's very difficult and unconvenient, some time they have to make boat for float along the river or use horse for across the mountain.
The American Indian painted on animal skin to keep their history or telling story.
Lewis recorded all the explore journey on the paper include drawing picture of unknown animails to sending back to the great father (Thomas Jefferson).

I thought this movie was a great way to learn about the Louisiana Purchase without attending class. It was easy to follow and beautiful views of the area the two guys traveled.

You did a great job bloggin it, especially your comments at the end.
